Ulverston Citrus Lime cloud company creates new jobs after year of growth
Software company CUMBRIA Citrus Lime is considering expansion.
The Ulverston-based cloud company plans to hire additional staff to its 50-person team after a period of exceptional growth.
In the past 12 months, the company has processed £ 473 million in customer orders and CEO Neil McQuillan said the company plans to create new jobs to help grow the business even further.
Mr McQuillan said: “The pandemic has been very difficult personally for many of us, but we have seen a shift in the way people use their purchasing power as the world has changed dramatically.
“We have been here in Ulverston since 2016 and have no plans to relocate. We have exciting job growth on the horizon and those jobs will be based here in the region.
“As a software publisher it is obviously tempting to move our headquarters to a place like Manchester, but that would go against our philosophy.
“We have a great team and culture at Ulverston and this is what we plan to build on in the near future with our new software opportunities.”
Citrus Lime is one of the industry leaders in cloud-based retail software and outdoor businesses, competing with global companies like Shopify.
Mr McQuillan said, “We want to keep local outdoor businesses in business. Since the pandemic, it has been important for us to help independent businesses compete with the biggest online stores.”
