Investing.com – German stocks were lower after Thursday’s close as losses in the sectors , and drove the stock lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the index fell 3.31% to a new 3-month low, while the index fell 3.77% and the index lost 2.97%.

The session’s best performers were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:), which fell 0.03% or 0.05 points to trade at 154.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:) fell 0.46% or 0.75 points to end at 163.25 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:) fell 1.07% or 0.54 points. at 49.90 at the end of the session.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:), which fell 12.44% or 3.54 points to trade at 24.91 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) fell 9.76% or 3.39 points to end at 31.34 and Covestro S.A. (ETR:) was down 8.69% or 3.44 points to 36.15.

Top performers on the MDAX were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which fell 0.21% to 2.81, Fraport AG (ETR:) which fell 0.41% to settle at 48.45 and Software AG (ETR:) which lost 0.46% to close at 30.38.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:) which was down 9.73% at 18.92 at the end of the session, Lanxess AG (ETR:) which lost 9.62% to settle at 37.78 and Hypoport SA (ETR:) which was down 8.31% to close at 192.00.

Top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE ON (ETR:) which rose 0.19% to 9.42, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which fell 0.21% to settle at 2.81 and Software AG (ETR:) which lost 0.46% to close at 30.38.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which lost 6.75% to 22.66 at the end of the session, Infineon Technologies AG NA ON (ETR:) which lost 6.26% to settle at 23.43 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which lost 5.91% to 21.32 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered rising stocks on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange from 610 to 84 and unchanged at 64.

Shares of Hypoport AG (ETR:) fell to their lowest level in 3 years; down 8.31% or 17.40 to 192.00. Shares of Infineon Technologies AG NA ON (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.26% or 1.57 to 23.43. Shares of Jenoptik AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; lose 5.91% or 1.34 to 21.32.

Gold futures for August delivery rose 1.74% or 31.65 to $1,851.25 per troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for July delivery rose 1.53% or 1.77 to $117.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0, 78% or 0.93 to trade at $119.44 a barrel.

EUR/USD rose 1.10% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.43% to 0.85.

US dollar index futures fell 1.37% to 103.50.
